Now that we have entered the final phase of the semester, we can finally share with you our mini research proposal which is the final assessment for the course (apart from this blog itself). Basically, we proposed a research on the representation of Muslim women in selected American newspaper articles.
We are intrigued by the field of corpus linguistics and we would like to venture into this by proposing a research related to it. Although we may not be able to see how this research would turn out to be, we strongly believe that this research would be an insightful one since it looks at real language use in the context of current issues.

We are totally grateful that we managed to finish this particular assignment but we believe that there are rooms of improvement for this assignment. In the next entry, we will share with you our reflection in going through the process of completing this assignment. Till then, salaam!
