Discourse Analysis: Genre II

Assalamualaikum and greetings dear readers,

As promised, we are sharing with you our genre assignment that we had to do for the course Discourse Analysis. This is actually a travel article on our journey to Penang few years back. This particular article can be described as a narrative text as well as a descriptive text.

We tried our best at depicting this particular article as it would usually appear in newspapers. Apart from that, you'd find that we attached some photos that we gathered from our journey in Penang to better illustrate the actual scenes. As a compliment to this genre writing, we were also assigned to provide a textual analysis of this article to show our understanding in the approaches of Discourse Analysis.
